Hello Friend,

Have you ever planned a road trip and needed directions? Did you use MapQuest for the journey? Or maybe you use Apple Maps or Google Maps?

As a young officer driving across the country, my favorite navigation tool was the AAA travel planner. Why? Because it was every map, I needed in one flip book. If you didn’t have a AAA travel planner, you would have to use a combination of multiple large maps.

When I showed my first trip book to my grandfather, he was amazed. The travel planner revolutionized navigation. The AAA travel planner consolidated my travel information into one document and reduced my stress level.

Today you may use other navigation platforms to assist you with your daily or long-distance travel directions. For example, you can use MapQuest, Google Maps, or Apple Maps. Or maybe your vehicle has a navigation system.

While MapQuest is a good option, it has limitations because the directions are written. Thus, one must read the directions while trying to drive. In contrast, Apple Maps or Google Maps provide step-by-step verbal directions with real-time traffic data while you are driving.

So how do Google Maps and Apple Maps provide you with real-time data? Artificial Intelligence, also known as AI. While there is a lot of concern about the role of AI in our daily lives, AI has made our lives easier.

As an educational leader, AI is changing how we educate students. Adaptive software is integral to personalizing instruction and addressing individual student needs. In addition, AI platforms like chatGPT are revolutionizing the K-12 education system.

Teachers and students can benefit from an improved learning experience by leveraging AI-based learning tools.

AI-based platforms can help teachers create personalized learning experiences for their students. Using AI-based platforms, teachers can quickly and easily assess a student’s understanding of a subject and provide tailored instruction for each student.

AI-based platforms can also help teachers save time by automating administrative tasks such as grading and attendance.

For students, AI platforms can provide a more engaging learning experience. AI-based platforms can generate personalized content and engage students with interactive activities.

Students can also benefit from AI-based platforms by receiving real-time feedback, which can help them learn more quickly and effectively.

“If we teach today as we taught yesterday, we rob our children of tomorrow."
- John Dewey

Teachers and students can benefit from an improved learning experience by leveraging AI-based learning tools. Embracing AI-based platforms can provide many benefits to K-12 education.
